Stunning all-round superbike performance coupled with an 'intercontinental-blast' ability is intrinsic to the Daytona 955i's appeal.
The Daytona 955i has proved, over the years and miles, that balance is everything. With large amounts of horsepower comes the need for finesse. And while achieving true balance for a sports machine is no easy task, the Daytona 955i excels because it's been designed, from its inception, as a real world performance motorcycle. It provides exactly the right blend of sporting ability matched to practicality and, while supremely fast, it's also extremely well mannered, nimble and agile yet roomy and comfortable.
At the Daytona's heart beats a highly-evolved, fuel-injected 955cc three-cylinder engine that provides a heady peak power output of 149PS, with a great spread of power throughout the rev-range. Peak torque of 100Nm is delivered at 8,200rpm and instant drive in any of the Daytona's six gears is the reward of the three-cylinder engine layout.
The Daytona's chassis, likewise, provides the perfect blend of stability and responsiveness. The aluminium frame is massively strong as are the fully adjustable 45mm telescopic forks. Also fully adjustable is the rear monoshock, which suspends the elegant single-sided swingarm. As befits such a powerful machine tyre sizes are 120/70 ZR17 front and 190/50 ZR17 rear, making use of the very best sports rubber. Twin four-piston calipers stop the front wheel via 320mm floating discs and a single twin-piston caliper grips the rear 220mm disc. Braking performance, as you'd expect, is phenomenal.
Colour options are Scorched Yellow or Jet Black. A range of Triumph accessories to further sharpen the Daytona's focus are available, including a high-level oval carbon can and re-mapped fuelling for the EFI (for circuit use only). Other items - such as soft luggage - extend the Daytona's range as a long-distance real-world sports bike.
Sleek lines add real class to the Daytona 955i's multi-faceted persona and it remains the intelligent superbike choice, offering as it does a unique riding experience and, in terms of ownership, major satisfaction and enjoyment.
