For 2008 Harley-Davidson is offering its most diverse line of Sportster® models in the 51-year history of the legendary XL platform. From the minimalist, neo-retro chic styling of the new XL 1200N Nightster™ to the affordable performance of the XL 883 Sportster® 883 and the glamorous power of the XL 1200C Sportster® 1200 Custom, there’s a model to match the desires of any rider.
For more than a half-century, the Sportster family has always stayed true to its roots whilst evolving technologically. New for Europe for 2008, the XL1200N Nightster offers a further burst of adrenalin with a head-turning combination of exceptional performance and an underground urban feel. By blending a unique new style with the power and torque of the rubber-mounted Evolution™ V-Twin engine, the Nightster offers a sharp ride for the street.
First introduced to the U.S. market early in 2007, the European version features longer travel rear suspension for improved lean angle on Europe’s and a neat new LED stop/turn/tail light design that is the last word in minimal style.

All Sportster models are powered by the Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injected (ESPFI) XL Evolution™ V-Twin powertrain, rubber-mounted in the frame to reduce vibration and tuned to deliver a broad powerband for outstanding street performance, reduced clutch lever effort, redesigned gauges, high performance carbon fibre reinforced belts and improved front brake lever effort. The Harley-Davidson Smart Security System, offering hands free operation, is standard equipment on all European Sportster models.

New Graphics: New tank graphics are featured on the XL 883, XL 883 Low, XL 883C Custom, XL 1200R Roadster and XL 1200C Custom.
105th Anniversary Edition: Limited-edition, serial numbered 105th Anniversary versions XL 1200C Custom and XL 1200L Low will be available in 2008.
