2008 Yamaha YN50 Neo
Our latest Neo’s 50cc scooter is all about fun and functionality.
Designed for the city dweller, who wants a lively no-fuss runabout that sets them free from bus and train timetables, Neo’s is a hugely enjoyable, user-friendly scooter designed with practicality always in mind.
Neo’s is easy to ride, easy to park and easy to look after, so it’s ideal for city maneuvering and daily commuting. Packed with Yamaha’s legendary scooter know-how, Neo’s features elegant retro styling that fits right in, wherever it’s going, wherever it’s parked.
This year’s model has undergone a styling update to make Neo’s even more fun and functional. The cool retro bodywork has been refined to further emphasize Neo’s friendly lines while retaining its distinctive dual headlights. And there’s a funky new dash panel with LCD read-out, including handy fuel gauge.
The latest Neo’s is designed to slip through the gridlock like the city traffic is hardly there, whether it is for commuting, shopping or on an evening out. Excellent rider control is accentuated by Neo’s low seat height and 12inch alloy wheels with grippy tyres.
And the 190mm front disc/rear drum brake combination delivers safe, confidence inspiring braking performance.
Neo’s features a lockable under seat helmet locker, large enough to secure one full-face helmet while parked or to carry shopping while on the move. There’s even a luggage hook behind the steering head for the convenience of carrying a shopping bag that’s easy to get at.
Neo’s is compact in design but roomy enough to accommodate larger riders with plenty of leg space. Indeed the comfy dual seat will also accommodate a passenger who will appreciate the handy pillion grab rails, which also make Neo’s ultra-easy to park.
At Neo’s heart is a 50cc two-stroke engine developed through Yamaha’s mastery of two-stroke technology. The single-cylinder motor delivers nippy acceleration that helps the rider deal with every traffic situation. Neo’s fully automatic transmission unleashes twist-and-go performance that makes stop-and-start riding through the city so easy.
Neo’s enjoys an enviable reputation for dependability and low maintenance, so every Neo’s owner will appreciate the remarkable economy and easy maintenance of a scooter that enjoys huge popularity in cities throughout Europe.
