Double Whammy as Twins announce opening of Women's Motorcycle Clothing Shop - May 24th 2004

Twin sisters, Julie Meager and Clare Keeley this week announced the opening of their shop 'Girlsbike2' in Hitchin, Herts and website www.girlsbike2.com, which is due to be launched on Saturday 5th June. They have formed a partnership with some of the leading manufacturers in the industry to supply a large range of women's motorbike clothing and accessories for women of all sizes.

Julie and Clare, both experienced motorcyclists themselves, have been frustrated by the lack of choice and availability of women's motorcycle wear offered in the UK. Julie, who also teaches advanced motorcycling said "Women in the UK want fashionable motorcycle clothing and Girlsbike2 will provide this. We stock a very large range of brands, styles, colours and sizes tailored to women motorcyclists, supported by a personal service to our customers. We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from suppliers and our increasing customer base."

Women's motorcycling is a growing sector for both the leisure and commuter markets, growing massively over the last few years due to high cost of motoring and increased disposable income. Girlsbike2 aim to give women the choice and variety of clothing that other retail outlets and websites do not offer.

The company is also supported by the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) and WIMA (The Women's International Motorcycle Association). Sue Chadwick, Captain of WIMA commented "Women have always struggled to find attractive, good quality motorcycling clothing designed specifically to fit the female shape. Too often, we are faced with only a limited choice of items primarily designed to fit men. The idea of an outlet aimed only at women and supplying items designed specifically for women is extremely exciting. WIMA would like to wish Julie and Clare every success in their venture".

GIRLSBIKE2 MOTORBIKE CLOTHING LTD WILL BE LAUNCHED ON 5TH JUNE 2004 WITH A CHAMPAGNE OPENING AT THEIR SHOP IN WALSWORTH ROAD, HITCHIN, HERTS, BETWEEN 10AM AND 5PM. FURTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FROM CLARE KEELEY ON 07831 467440.
