End of January Frankie Chili, Max Neukirchner and Tatu Lauslehto passed
with their Klaffi Hondas a four-day-test at Cartagena.
Before chasing times they spent the first day with fine tuning of our
Klaffi Honda Fireblades and CBR 600 RR. After the basic work Frankie
was the fastest rider of the Klaffi Honda Team. For Max Neukirchner it
was the first time to ride a Superbike but at the end of the test-days
he was only 0.6 second slower than Frankie Chili.
Frankie Chili: "The first roll-out was really okay. At Cartagena we
still used standard engines. At Quatar I'll be able to push the Honda
with a race engine to the limits."
Max Neukirchner: "It is great to work with Frankie Chili. The Klaffi
Honda Fireblade is very fast but I only started riding the bike. Now I
need some more testing to get more familiar to the Fireblade."
Tatu Lauslehto: "The Klaffi Honda CBR 600 RR is perfect. I have even set
a new personal best lap time - 0.5 second faster than my best lap time I
achieved last year here in the European Championship. - The Showa
suspension is completely new for me - but it is the best I ever had
Teammanager Klaus Klaffenböck: "We have done a lot of good work at
Cartagena. Now we continue the race against time. There are only three
weeks left to the opening race of World's Superbike Championship in
Quatar. The motivation of the riders and the whole team is very strong
and I'm sure we may achieve top results at Quatar."
