The Sidecar Race B today was one of the most exiting events of the 2005 TT. Klaus Klaffenböck and Christian Parzer finished 8th in Sidecar Race A and now they aimed to improve their result in the second heat. With an average speed of 105,60 m/h (168,96) they did their first lap in 21:26.2 and were riding on position 10. In lap 2 Klaffi and Christian were even faster: 21:06.8, 107.21 m/h (171,5 km/h).
In the third lap Klaffi and Christian passed Glen Helen on 9th position. They reached Westwood and there was the end of the journey! The battery was flat. Their sidecar came to a standstill.
Klaus Klaffenböck: This was really a bad surprise. But though we couldn't finish the second race we passed a great time on the island. We finished 8th in Sidecar Race A and improved our speed from lap to lap. All in all these are best conditions for the Isle of Man TT 2006.
Dave Molyneux took victory in Sidecar Race B. With his passenger Daniel Sayle he broke the 20 minute barrier in Sidecar and set a new race record.
