Kurtis Roberts youngest son of King Kenny has confirmed he will be leaving Motogp to race for Erion Honda in the AMA Superbike Championship.

Roberts will campaign a Honda CBR1000RR in the AMA Superbike Championship and a Honda CBR600RR in Formula Xtreme. The team will be backed by American Honda, Parts Unlimited and PJ1 Oils. A number of tests have been scheduled for February.

The deal represents a positive opportunity for both Erion and Roberts. For Erion, it keeps the team in the Superbike class where it's had success with both Roberts, in 2003, and Jake Zemke, last year. Both riders finished the season third in points.

With Honda Racing Corporation's decision not to supply works machinery to American Honda in 2005, it gives Erion Racing a chance to showcase their technical ability. For Roberts, it's a return to competitiveness. Roberts had his best season in 2003, when he won two of the final three races and finished third overall.
