Entries for the July 31st Rockingham Motor Speedway round of the Vivaldi
British Supermoto Championship are on target to exceed 100 with a
substantial number of riders expected to test on the Saturday at the all new
track.
SportFX spokesperson Stuart Williams said that the Rockingham venue had
created a lot of interest and had kick started long-term plans to raise the
profile of Supermoto and attract new riders to the sport.
"Vivaldi wanted to expand the sports appeal by taking Supermoto to venues
such as Rockingham. The Clubman Trophy and the Junior Challenge coupled with
the lure of a new track has attracted a lot of riders who have not ridden in
the British Championship before to give it a go. The response from riders,
teams and manufacturers since we made the announcement has been very
positive."
Preparations for the completely new track to be held adjacent to the Turn 4
grandstand are underway and organisers are confident the unique layout and
new venue will be a challenge for riders and deliver an exciting days racing
for spectators.
Tickets for the Sunday race-day are now available through SportFX for
£10.00. Organisers will be holding a prize draw for all ticket holders with
a free day's tuition courtesy of the Supermoto School at Rockingham, Vivaldi
