A fantastic sun was shining on the third and last day of tests at the Australian Circuit of Phillip Island. The whether conditions - 25°C air temperature, 55% humidity rate and nearly 40°C on the ground - were perfect to continue working on the new Honda RC211V setting Makoto will use this season in the MotoGP World Championship.
The Konica Minolta Honda Team technical staff has been able to work in deep in developing the new setting strategies permitting Makoto to try many different solutions.
The aim was to obtain useful information regarding the behaviour of the new bike and, for this, the 91 laps Tamada accomplished during the day, have permitted to get a great quantity of helpful data. The rider made a good use of all the time at his disposal, he just had a 45 minutes stop in the middle of the day. In the end, Makoto revealed to be really satisfied of the job he done. 1.31.77 has been his best lap time.
In approximately ten days time, the Konica Minolta Honda Team will be back on track again for the three days test at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia on February 14-15-16.

"I'm absolutely satisfied of the job we have done today. We found the perfect conditions to test and I'm convinced we could benefit of the data we gathered today even from the next Sepang test. I made so many laps; my feeling with the bike is getting constantly better and better, even if, obviously, lots of work has still to be done before stating that we found the ideal 2006 RC211V setting. I'm convinced we are on the right way and satisfied of the top physical form I reached during this winter in Japan. I think a longer winter stop has been positive because now I feel totally regenerated."

"Today Tamada carried out more than 400km riding the new bike and we have been able to work smoothly all day long.In the first part of the test, we continued the roughing out of the setting of the new RC211V we started last Tuesday, while in the afternoon we started our job with Michelin, testing some new front tyres. In the end we have been able to obtain so many information, helpful to define the way to follow towards the development of each sector of the bike. The 2006 engine-frame package has already demonstrated to need an easier rider running, revealing to be more sensitive to adjustments. I feel satisfied of the piece of work we have planned here. We have obtained the first results, now we hope to be able to put Makoto in the best conditions to express all his potential."
