Little more than six weeks after launching the fund at Brand's Hatch in late March, support for the Chris Jones Memorial Fund is growing.

Originally created in the tragic aftermath of 14-year-old Chris' death, there are now plans to roll out various events throughout the year and beyond. The aim of the Memorial Fund is to identify and help to purchase vital equipment to enhance safety at the racetracks.

Spokesman Steve Brookes said recently, "The Ten Pin Bowling night in July is booking up fast and we've got all sorts of stars turning up. We need to keep raising funds through similar events and we also need support from the organising bodies, major teams and their sponsors.

Our ultimate aim is to be the recognised fund within the paddock which will see any monies raised being spent on an extremely good cause and help make the circuits safer for all the riders. One example of a team that have contributed substantially to the fund are Centurion Racing. They not only donated 1000 to the fund but also printed an information board and placed a collection bottle outside their awning. The interest was incredible and they are paying for more boards to be made available free to any team who wish help (www.Centurionracing.net)."

With Eurosport pairing of Jack Burnicle and James Whitham compering and stars like James Toseland, Chris Walker plus numerous British Superbike stars attending. The Bowling night and auction will be an event not to be missed. Bowling Lanes and standard entry tickets are still available for the night on Monday July 10th but they are going fast.

There are four ways you can help- 1. Paying 25 per person (maximum 8 to a lane), 15 to just be there (includes a quality buffet). 2. Providing a high quality prize for the on night raffle. 3. A special piece of Racing Memorabilia that will be auctioned on the night or four to become a sponsor of the evening, see below.

The organisers of the fund (Steve Brooks and Pam Jones, Chris's Mum) also hope to speak to any companies or organisations who would like to support the costs of this event in return for enjoying their branding being used in all publicity, ticketing and promotional information. To discuss any of the above, please call Steve Brookes on 07967 480354 or e mail him at sbrookes23@btinternet.com or reply to this e-mail on the address above for further information, pictures or logos.
