The Airwaves Ducati team travel to Silverstone this weekend for the penultimate race in the 2006 BSB calendar; riders Leon Haslam and Gregorio Lavilla are currently first and second in the championship with Ducati also leading the constructers' championship by 30 points.

The Airwaves Ducati team are confident that they can achieve more excellent results at the 2.213-mile Northamptonshire circuit this weekend having achieved a sensational double in the last round as well as a one-two result at Silverstone last year.

It will be a crucial weekend of racing before the championship decider and double point's header at Brands Hatch on October 1st. It will also be an exciting weekend for the team as they become the Black Mint Airwaves Ducati team to celebrate the launch of the new Airwaves Black Mint flavour chewing gum.

Currently second behind his team mate in the championship, Spaniard Gregorio Lavilla is looking to Silverstone to continue his campaign to retain the title. "This weekend is going to be really exciting, I like Silverstone as a track and I am hopeful of doing well here especially after our results at Cadwell Park. The bike is working really well at the moment so I am looking forward to these final two rounds of the championship as it is going to be very exciting for the Airwaves Ducati fans."

Championship leader Leon Haslam is keen to extend his lead over his rivals before the double points show down at Brands Hatch. "I have said a number of times that I really like the final 3 circuits in this season's calendar and I think that showed in my results at Cadwell! I will be working really hard to continue my recent run of form at Silverstone this weekend and I am feeling pretty confident. I scored a double podium here last year and the team got a one-two so I think we will be competing strongly for top podium spots this weekend. I am delighted to be leading the championship and I can't wait for this weekends racing."

Round 12 of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship is on Sunday September 17th 2006.
