The Ducati Xerox Team's World Superbike riders Troy Bayliss and Lorenzo
Lanzi are to make a special one-off guest appearance in the famous Harrods
department store in Knightsbridge, Central London on the morning of Thursday
25 May.
In an event organised in collaboration with Ducati Corse's luggage partner
Tumi, the two riders will be present in the store from 10 o'clock until 12
noon before they head off for the fourth round of the World Superbike
Championship, which is taking place at the Silverstone circuit in
Northamptonshire on May 27-28.
Troy and Lorenzo will be greeted by representatives from Harrods, Tumi and
Xerox prior to the store opening and will then pose for photographs in front
of the Harrods shop window where the luggage collection is on display. They
will be escorted by the store's security guards through Harrods to the Tumi
concession in the luggage department to sign autographs and stop for more
photographs with fans, customers and employees. Finally the riders will
extract lucky names from a helmet in a prize draw to see who wins a pillion
ride on the Ducati Xerox 2-Seater Experience at the Silverstone weekend as
well as some items from the high performance Tumi+Ducati luggage collection.
World Superbike makes its first annual visit to the UK for the Silverstone
round, this year with Ducati Xerox rider Troy Bayliss firmly in command of
the championship. The 37 year-old from Australia, WSBK champion with Ducati
in 2001, has won the last five races on his Xerox-backed Ducati 999 machine
and will be aiming to increase his winning streak on UK soil. His 24
year-old team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi from Italy, is chasing his first glory this
year after two outstanding wins in 2005.
