Hawkstone Park - International Moto-X - February 27th 2006

    Less than seven days separate British race fans from one of the most important moto-x meetings of the 2006 season. Stefan Everts, Joel Smets, Josh Coppins, Seb Tortelli and Mikael Pichon have all confirmed that they are fit and ready to race at Britain's most famous moto-x circuit this coming Sunday - 5th March.

    The sandy Shropshire venue, has hosted many memorable occasions and this weekend promises to add yet another chapter to its great history. The anticipated battle between Everts and Tortelli, around one of the worlds most respected and feared tracks has added importance and relevance with this being Everts' farewell appearance at Hawkstone Park. Fellow Belgian Smets will also say his final goodbye to one his favourite circuits and to competitive racing in the UK, with him not riding in the Grand Prix's this year.

    The foreign invaders will meet with strong home resistance, with the likes of Stephen Sword making his UK debut in the MX1 class, national champion Carl Nunn and Grand Prix hero Billy MacKenzie, all looking to make their own piece of Hawkstone history.

    Salop motorclub have assembled one of the strongest entries ever seen outside of the World championship proper on this their 80th year. Advance ticket sales would suggest a record turnout for this pre-season event.

    In response to the massive expected crowd, two entry and exit routes and a new 'park n pay' system have been introduced to improve traffic flow into and out of the venue. The track will also be AA sign posted from both the A53 and A49, with separate entrances for each approach route. Ticket prices remain the same for the third year running and represent incredible value for money when you consider the all-star starting line-up and that it includes free on-site parking and a complimentary full colour official programme (produced in association with Dirt Bike Rider Magazine).

    A full day of entertainment is guaranteed with a much increased trade village and interval trials action courtesy of Steve 'showtime' Colley and World junior champion James Dabill. Eurosport's Jack Burnicle will act as MC to what is sure to be a great day for all the family.
