The third evening of 2006 TT solo practice got away in similar conditions to the two previous sessions and ran uninterrupted and virtually incident free.

Getting first away alongside Guy Martin, Lougher was aiming for two laps on the Stobart Superbike, having completed his initial lap Ian returned to the paddock momentarily for some fine tuning to the suspension. Now without the chance of a flying lap, undeterred, the Welshman went out setting a strong pace from a standing start.

For Buckley out on the Team Black Horse Superstock 1000cc Fireblade machine it was a case of improving all the time, and by the end of his first two laps Mark had knocked over eight seconds off his first Superstock lap time.

For Lougher the Supersport 600cc session did not go quite according to plan; a bolt holding his gear lever sheared forcing him to have to stop and lose valuable time. Luckily, however a Marshal on hand, surprisingly had a suitable sized bolt and Lougher was able to make running repairs enabling him to carry on to the end of the session, setting the fastest time of the evening on the Team Black Horse Honda CBR600RR Supersport machine.

Again, Buckley was circulating well on his Team Black Horse Supersport machine and at the conclusion of the session he had taken almost a further nine seconds of his previous best Supersport lap time.

Ian Lougher: - "I'm really happy with tonight's practice; We have made massive steps forward with the Stobart Motorsport Superbike set-up and it's almost perfect now, but we have one or two things to try in Wednesday evenings practice, which should improve it further, it's very fast and the handling is certainly not too far away.

Obviously the bolt snapping on the supersport machine gear lever was a nuisance, but rather it snap in practice than the race! The Honda CBR600RR feels great, and although the weather conditions were still a bit blustery tonight, the little bike was firmly planted.

Mark Buckley: I felt much more settled tonight, perhaps because the circuit is becoming more familiar to me, and it has shown in my lap times. I am really pleased with tonight's practice both Team Black Horse machines feel good and I am looking forward to Wednesday's practice already."
