As the summer season of outdoor motorcycling events draws to a close, the Ace Café has just enough time to slot in its 13th annual Reunion event. The 2006 Ace Café Reunion will take place from Friday 8 until Sunday 10 September in two locations - the Ace Café in London and Brighton's Madeira Drive. BMW Motorrad will be present at the Sunday celebrations in Brighton for the first ever UK public display of the new R1200 R.
All riders are welcome to join the Brighton Burn-Up mass ride-out, which will leave the Ace Café at 10am on Sunday 10 September and head for the famous Brighton seafront. Hundreds of bikers will descend on the town to enjoy the festival atmosphere of the Reunion rally with displays, stalls and live music on offer throughout the day.
BMW Motorrad will be in Brighton with a display of bikes from the 2006 model line-up, plus two special-edition motorcycles. The star attraction will be the new R1200 R naked boxer-engined roadster, which is yet to go on sale in the UK. Ace Café Reunion visitors will get a sneak preview of the 109 hp bike, which will be launched in BMW dealerships nationwide on 16 September.
Other models on display will include the K1200 GT tourer, the F800 S sports bike and the R1200 GS Adventure. Visitors will also have a chance to see one of the F650 GS Dakar machines that was ridden by the BMW Race to Dakar team in the 2006 Euromilhões Lisbon to Dakar rally, and a 175 hp BMW K1200 R PowerCup bike as raced in the 2005 BMW Motorrad PowerCup series.
BMW Motorrad experts will be on hand throughout the day to offer information and advice on BMW's entire range of bikes. Visitors can also pick up a free copy of the latest edition of BMW Bikes magazine and get details on the World of BMW customer activity programme.
