The grit of this California of the third millennium is all new, with the decisive aggressive lines of the handlebar extending uninterruptedly from the solid tubular supports. An aggressiveness which is also obvious from the design of the side panels, slimmer and more aerodynamic than usual, and from the profile of the front mudguard, compact and reduced to a minimum. The plate on the silencers is both attractive and functional, protecting the legs of both rider and passenger.

The unmistakable exhaust pipes emphasising the lateral profile, the classic round headlight and fins on the legendary 90 V-Twin engine express continuity with the past. The metal colour which gives the model its name gives a characteristic touch to the tank, side panels and alternator and cradle covers for a hi-tech image which reflects the innovations adopted. The engine features a cross piece linking the cylinder manifolds for improved power output and hydraulic tappets to eliminate the play between valve and rocker arm, thus reducing noise to a minimum.

The new three-way catalytic converter with Lambda sensor, a feature used mainly in the car sector, reduces emissions and brings them in line with Euro 2 standards. Real road bike mechanics with a rigid modular double cradle in high tensile steel, robust Marzocchi fork with 45 mm diameter inners and swinging fork swingarm with double shock absorber to guarantee impeccable road holding and precise trajectories on bends. Ultra-powerful brakes, with Brembo Oro Series 320 mm double disc operated by a calliper with four pistons at the front and 282 mm single disc at the rear.
