Derbi Senda 125 4T - 2005

Derbi Senda 125

A REVAMPED AND IMPROVED SUCCESS STORY

After the unprecedented success enjoyed by the 2003 model, Derbi steps up another level with the Senda 125 4T 2005, an improved version from every perspective. The best offering in the 'Urban Off-Road' section has been completely revamped and continues to be the standard bearer in the 125cc four-stroke category.

From the engine to the chassis, Derbi's designers have completely revised the bike from top to bottom, with the Rally Baja Aragón providing the perfect testing bench. In the tough Spanish event a test team rode the Senda 125 4T, the smallest cylinder bike in the competition, all the way to the finish line in brilliant fashion and without a single mechanical problem. Its outstanding form in the most demanding of conditions translates to excellence when transferred to its natural habitat on the track and light off-road.

The formula for revamped success lies in improved comfort and performance. There are so many small details that have been updated that almost go unnoticed by the naked eye. The main mechanical change is in the engine. The 2005 version is more powerful, smoother, cleaner, quieter, with less vibration and easier to ride.

Safety has been improved with a modified twin headlight optic, swapping the 25 W bulbs for new H8 halogen 35 W. The battery needs no maintenance and has a longer life. Comfort is optimised with a longer rear suspension (previously 180mm, now 200mm) and more varied response, due to a softer shock on the first part of the travel becoming more progressive towards the end.

The swinging arm now features four pads, improving feeling on the rear suspension and overall durability. The chain cover has also been redesigned to offer better protection for the swinging arm, reduce noise and extend the lifespan of the chain. There are several other less obvious, yet no less important, changes, such as the reinforced side stand.

Aesthetically speaking a new front mudguard and fuel cap give the bike a more modern look. The same can be said for the stainless steel exhaust, which maximizes the performance of the engine as well as helping to keep the noise level down. As far as handling is concerned, the rubber mounts have been removed from the handlebars in order to give more direct and precise steering. After this makeover, the Derbi 125 4T is ready to continue on the road to success.
