  • 996cc, 90-degree V-twin, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valves-per-cylinder engine, tuned to produce a broad powerband with exceptional low- and mid-rpm torque and throttle response.
  • High-quality engine components include forged-aluminum-alloy pistons shaped to reduce reciprocating weight, quench-hardened and tempered chrome-moly-steel connecting rods, and SCEM (Suzuki Composite Electrochemical Material)-plated aluminium-alloy cylinders selected for high durability, light weight and better heat transfer.
  • Downdraft, straight-port cylinder head and compact, 11.3:1-compression-ratio combustion chamber deliver efficient performance.
  • Unique gear-and-chain cam drive system helps keep the engine compact and reduce mechanical losses.
  • Back-torque-limiting clutch system contributes to smoother downshifts. Large-diameter clutch plates and hydraulic clutch-actuating system provide a relatively light clutch-lever feel.
