Yamaha have always believed in offering all its customers the widest possible choice, and the new DT125X is designed to appeal to those customers who want supermotard styling and 2-stroke performance. Developed from the DT125RE, the DT125X features different forks, bodywork, brakes and wheels.

Chassis

The DT125X is equipped with 17 inch front and rear wheels, and runs with a 120/70-17 front tyre and massive 140/70-17 rear tyre, giving this high speci? cation 125 2-stroke a hardedged supermotard image. A black swing arm, short black front fender, black Excel aluminium rims and a new-shape two-tone dual seat make for a genuine factory racer look.

Braking is amongst the best in the class, and features a massive 298mm diameter floating front disc and Brembo 2-pot caliper, while the rear wheel is fitted with a 220mm rear disc and Nissin caliper.

The flex resistant 41mm front forks give 200mm of front wheel travel, 70mm less than the DT125RE, while rear suspension travel on the DT125X is 230mm, 30mm less than the RE model. Caster angle is reduced to 24.5 degrees (27 degrees on the DT125RE) while trail is shortened to 74mm, compared with 107mm on the DT125RE. This revised geometry gives quicker steering and sporty handling qualities.
