Yamaha XT125R - 2005
The XT125R is an all-new 4-stroke dual purpose style machine that has been designed to appeal to entry level customers who want a stylish and easy to use all-rounder at a competitive price.
Its rugged styling has been inspired by the successful XT660R model, and yet despite its rugged dual purpose image (which is often associated with a tall seat height) the new XT125R
is noticeably smaller than the more specialist DT125RE 2-stroke.
In fact, the XT125R's chassis dimensions are similar to those of the DT50, and with a low seat height of only 860mm, this new lightweight 4-stroke is an ideal choice for younger and
smaller riders. Its user-friendly character, compact dimensions and responsive 4-stroke engine also make the new XT125R a clear choice for customers of all ages who are new to two wheels.
Engine
Powering the XT125R is a reliable 124cc air-cooled
4-stroke SOHC single cylinder engine that delivers plenty of smooth, controllable power.
Its 'square' bore and stroke dimensions of 54mm x 54mm give a responsive, free-revving engine character, making this new lightweight an extremely rider-friendly bike.
The new XT125R comes equipped with an electric starter and kick starter and 5-speed transmission, and for reduced emissions the exhaust system is equipped with catalyst and an air induction system.

Chassis
One of the most significant features of the nimble and agile XT125R is its physically compact chassis, which makes it an ideal machine for young riders and also for new, inexperienced
customers. A strong box section steel frame and plush front and rear suspension deliver a smooth, comfortable ride with a low seat height of only 860mm, and dry weight of 111kg.
The styling of the new XT125R is strongly influenced by the highly successful XT660R adventure sport bike that was introduced for the 2004 season. A high-level front mudguard, enduro style headlight assembly and tough polypropylene fork protectors underline the bike's rugged dual purpose image, and a 10-litre fuel tank gives plenty of range between refills.
Like the XT660R, the XT125R comes equipped with a 21 inch front wheel and 18 inch rear wheel, and braking is supplied by a large diameter 245mm front disc and 220mm rear disc for strong and reliable stopping power.
