2006 KTM 250 SX-F
This highlight of the 2006 KTM SX model range is an unbeatable weapon in the MX2 class and represents a new dimension of light, compact double overhead cam engine. With a load of special features and producing 39 hp at 11,000 rpm and 26.5 Nm at 8,500 rpm, this easy handling bike, weighing just 98.5 kg, sets the benchmark in its class.
Unique DOHC design; titanium valves of 31 mm for the intake, 26.5 mm for the exhaust. DLC coated finger levers design permits a 11 mm valve stroke for maximal breathing, top performance and power band up to 13,400 rpm.
Easy access to valve shims through inclined magnesium cam cover; separate cam housing; short timing chain with a hydraulic chain tensioner.
Intermediate gear above the camshaft drives water pump and the tim-ing chain. Chain length can be reduced; hydraulic chain tensioner.
Minimum width between bearings for stiffer crank shaft; optimized balancing means no counter balance shaft is needed.
A strong oil pump in a sealed crank case with a compensation port of just 1 mm sucks the oil out of the crank case and creates a depression supporting the piston work for an optimal engine response.
Latest 39 mm KEIHIN FCR-MX flat-slide carburettor; adjustable
accelerator pump and remote hot start button on the handle bar.
Magura hydraulic clutch.
