2006 Honda XR400R
The XR400R's compact and efficient 397cc dry-sump four-stroke engine develops excellent power and torque while its RFVC (Radial Four Valve Combustion Chamber) ensures maximum combustion efficiency and horsepower giving a big blast of fun in every turn of the throttle. Its lightweight yet rugged computer-designed semi-double-cradle frame, with state-of-the-art suspension components provide the hard-charging handling that off-road riders love.
Since it was first released in 1996 the XR400R has acquired a reputation for unburstable reliability amongst trail riders and rally racers alike. Take Alex Marr for example. He put his brand new XR400R throught desert hell and jungle high water when he entered it in the 1998 Dakar and Atlas rallies and then took it across Africa for a year. It got filled with water in Ethiopia but still got him to Cape Town. A glutton for punishment, Alex entered his newly refurbished XR in the notoriously tough 'Roof of Africa' rally in Lesotho and it never missed a beat.
The XR400R sports an 18 inch rear wheel for greater tyre selection with a rear disk brake that utilise a quick - detach rear wheel system.
High efficiency oil-cooler supplements the cooling effect of the oil-carrying frame and the large cylinder-head fins.
Gear-driven counter balancer for engine smoothness; 36mm carburettor for crisp throttle response at all rpm and dual intake and exhaust ports for maximum engine efficiency.
