KTM Motorcycles - The Brand
When it re-established itself in 1992,
KTM's mission was for the world's best offroad motorcycles
to come from Mattighofen. The idea was that all the
new machines that rolled out of the workshops in Upper
Austrian were to be 'Ready to Race' – and this
is no different today, as all of KTM's development
activities are based on this motto. A plethora of
individual product features that go hand in hand with
an unmistakable design language also contribute to
the Mattighofen team's success.
Stripping a motorcycle down to its
basics optimises its performance – both in racing
and in everyday riding. And the 'basics' must be made
of premium quality, optimally tried and tested parts.
And so, a KTM is born!
The Mattighofen team's goals are ambitious:
only the highest quality together with comprehensive
production expertise earns the KTM label – made
in Austria! To achieve this goal, KTM works exclusively
with strong, professional partners that have impressively
proven their skills on more than one occasion. KTM
follows this 'premium' requirement in its customer
relations, as only those with an open minded approach
to their customers' needs and desires can achieve
The same exceptionally streamlined
riding sensation that characterises KTM racing machines
is offered by KTM motorcycles in everyday riding.
They support their riders with their powerful performance
and clear feedback. And perhaps this racing-orientated
design explains the thing that KTM motorcycle owners
first and foremost get from their bikes: tremendous
Adventure both on and offroad –
that's what KTMs were made for! And to ensure that
the individual limits are set by the riders and not
the motorcycles, KTM only ever uses premium quality,
state-ofthe- art technology.
Development has always been key for
the Mattighofen team as KTM motorcycles should be
able to compete both on and offroad in even the most
extreme situations. The eye-catching orange acts as
a unique identifying feature of the company whose
heart always has and always will belong to sport.
Whether Enduro, Motocross or Rally competitions, KTM
has decisively influenced every single discipline
over the past years
and decades. And this racing spirit will continually
bear fruit in Mattighofen. Since the 2009 season,
KTM has stood up to the competition with the RC8 R
in the IDM Superbike class – once again showing
its great skill on the tarmac. KTM's future philosophy
will remain 'Ready to race' – both when developing
and manufacturing motorcycles and when riding them.
All the performanceenhancing components, such as the
engines and the chassis, are designed and manufactured
in Mattighofen. KTM equips them with the best parts
that renowned suppliers such as WP Suspension, Brembo,
Excel, Renthal and Acerbis have to offer.
