Touring in Norway
Best places to visit
The Viking Museum at Oslo, beautiful
Geiranger and Pulpit Rock. Best rides are island
hopping along the Atlantic Road,
Trollstigen Curves and the Arctic Circle is
the long way up!
GETING THERE
The only ferry (DFDS) goes from Newcastle to
Stavanger and Bergen twice a week. Check out

JUICE, TOLS & SPEDING
Petrol is more
expensive than the UK and readily available.
Keep the tank topped up in mountain areas. The
further north, the more expensive petrol. Mastercard
and Visa cards are accepted. Use the blyfrei
and NOT the diesel pump!
Toll Roads operate
on some of the major through routes so keep
some coins ready. You only need to stop if there
is a red light on a green light motorcycles
are toll free.
GATSO's are plentiful
in the southern part of Norway - long, forward
facing slim poles. Do not use this as an excuse
for excessive speed Norway is one of the few
countries where you will go to jail for quite
modest speeds in excess of the limit. Speeding
fines are extortionate - £400 for just
12mph over a 50mph limit!
Other stuff.

- Ferries crossing the fjords only accept
cash
- Currency is Norwe gian Kroner
- SPEED LIMITS BUILT-UP AREAS: 25-35MPH;
