1929 Newmount 200cc
The name was British but in truth the Newmouth
was an imported German Zundapp. The smaller
model (seen here) employed Zundapp's own two-stroke
engine but there was also a 499cc Newmount which,
a little more patriotically, employed a British-built
Rudge engine in a German-made frame. Interestingly,
the man behind the Coventry-based importing
firm was J K Starley Jnr, formerly of the Rover
Company. Steering head and frame backbone are
a one-piece steel forging.
Engine - 60 x 70mm = 198cc Zundapp two-stroke

plain main bearings.
Tyres - 3 x 19in
Girder fork, duplex loop frame, 3-speed Zundapp
