Golden Dream Show Model
George Brough's Dream was first exhibited
at Earls Court in 1938. Mainly the design work
of H J Hatch, the engine was a four-cylinder
in the form of two horizontally opposed flat
twins mounted one above the other and connected
by geared crankshafts. Rather like an H on its
side. Overhead valves were pushrod operated
from twin chain driven camshaftsVery few of
these motorcycles were built during the early
part of 1939, including one with the 4 speed
gearbox which was built for that year's Earls
Court Show.
- Engine - 71 x 63 mm, 996cc transverse H
engine, 4 cylinders, overhead valves operated
by short silver steel pushrods from twin chain
driven camshafts.
Frame - modified standard frame using widely
splayed front down tubes with D section tubes
connecting saddle bracket to rear cross stay.
All frame joines welded.
Tyres - 3.50 x 19in front, 4 x 19in rear.
