S+S Performance, Silver Saxon Turbo

1979 S+S Performance,
Silver Saxon Turbo. Built by S+S Performance
in 1979 as part of a limited run of 10 for the
rock group Saxon, being unregistered and dry-stored
for 26 years, I have carried out a full but
sympathetic restoration on this genuine machine,
which is now being used on the road.
It only had 1100 ‘stage’ miles on
the clock when I bought it in November 2006,
but since being registered it’s now covered
2300 trouble-free miles.
The bike has won 6 awards so far this year,
I think more because of its exclusivity rather
than anything else. Not a lot of people have
ever heard of one before, let alone see one.
Indeed there were only ever 10 made, but they
were all indeed a limited ‘production’
bike that you could buy for a whopping cost
of £4350 in 1979.
