    Valentino Rossi (Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha) secured an incredible ninth win of a glorious championship winning season after a hard fought battle at today's Valencia Grand Prix. Down in sixth after a tricky start, Rossi used his improving pace to good effect, ultimately winning by a margin of 0.425 seconds ahead of second-placed rider Max Biaggi (Honda) and final podium finisher, Troy Bayliss (Ducati). Rossi broke through the three hundred point barrier with his Valencia victory, scoring a total of 304, despite two non-finishes this year. Read more.....

    Valentino Rossi (Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha) secured the 2004 Riders MotoGP Championship today at Phillip Island after winning an intense 27-lap battle with his main championship rival Sete Gibernau (Honda). The win gives Yamaha its first title in the premier class since 1992, and Rossi has now won more victories in one season than any Yamaha rider in history. Read more.....

    Hailed by many as the most significant new bike for 2005, Yamaha's MT-01 was the star of the recent Intermot show in Munich.     Valentino Rossi (Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha) secured his seventh win of the season and extended his championship lead at Sepang today, in hot and steamy conditions. With air temperatures hitting 40°C it was a tough task for the Italian, who led from lap four to the very end, setting a new lap record no fewer than three times. The eventual record lap was set at 2'03.253 on lap eight. Rossi's team-mate Carlos Checa finished a fighting ninth, after experiencing chatter problems. Read more.....

    Carlos Checa (Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha) was forced to retire from third position with only two laps remaining of today's inaugural Qatar Grand Prix. The 31-year-old Spaniard took the hole-shot from pole position on his YZR-M1 machine and led the first lap. He was edged out of contention by race-winner Sete Gibernau (Honda) on lap two and then by second-placed Colin Edwards (Honda) six laps later. Checa's retirement, which was due to a fuel problem, allowed fellow Spaniard Ruben Xaus (Ducati) to record his first ever MotoGP podium. Read more.....

    James Toseland became World Superbike Champion today in a display of true British grit, reminiscent of Carl Fogarty in his heyday . He did just about everything asked of him at the demanding French circuit, located near Nevers in Central France. The championship had come to the last round finely poised, with Toseland's Ducati factory team-mate Regis Laconi a mere 5 points ahead. Read more.....
