    Stobart Vent Axia Motorsport rider Tom Sykes posted third fastest in qualifying for round seven of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship as the weather interrupted proceedings at Knockhill in Scotland today. Read more.....

    Valentino Rossi put in one of the outstanding performances of his career aboard his one-off liveried 'Cinquecento' Fiat Yamaha at the Dutch TT today, taking a superb victory from 11th on the grid. His third win of the season is also Yamaha's 150th in total in the premier class of Grand Prix racing. Colin Edwards' was unable to match the outstanding performance of his team-mate today but nonetheless rode a solid race to finish in his grid position of sixth. Read more.....

    It was business as usual in the MotoGP paddock today, as the bad weather that has become the norm this season disrupted this afternoon's Qualifying session ahead of tomorrow's Dutch TT. After a dry session this morning, when Fiat Yamaha Team riders Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards were first and fourth fastest respectively, it was once again time for the riders to put on their rain-suits and do battle with the elements in the fight for grid slots.     The Oxford-born rider travelled this morning to Barcelona, where Dr. Perramón diagnosed in addition to the already known fractures in his foot and hand, a small fissure in the tibial plateau of the left knee. Read more.....

    Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards started their Dutch challenge in unusual style today, both sporting a new 1950's-inspired livery on their leathers and bikes. The colourful pair finished the day fourth and seventh in the combined standings after a thankfully dry first day of practice for the Dutch TT. Read more.....

    Assen continues to be a bogey track for Toni Elias, who was injured this morning in a free practice crash at turn fifteen. The Spaniard, who damaged his shoulder here last year and missed the race, will again be absent from Saturday's starting grid after breaking his left femur in an awkward slide into the gravel trap. After visiting the Clinica Mobile, where the fracture was diagnosed, Elias was transferred to the Wilhelmina hospital in Assen for further checks and was operated on this afternoon. Doctor Costa accompanied the Gresini Honda rider throughout and says he will need three months to recover. Read more.....

    Following two days of Pirelli tyre testing at Brno in the Czech Republic, HANNspree Ten Kate Honda leaves the circuit with some impressive lap times and invaluable bike development under its belt. Read more.....

    Both the Yamaha Motor Italia WSB Team and Yamaha World Supersport Team found success in testing this week at the Czech circuit of Brno. The teams participated in an official two-day test in their role as development teams for FGSport, along with a selection of other teams. Read more.....

    Just days after safely negotiating the waters of a soaking wet Donington Park, the Fiat Yamaha Team continue their adventures this week with a trip across the North Sea to Holland, in preparation for the ninth round of the MotoGP World Championship. The 77th edition of the Dutch TT at Assen sees Valentino Rossi chasing a 26-point gap to Casey Stoner at the top of the standings with ten rounds remaining of what promises to be a tightly fought battle for the most prestigious crown in motorcycle racing.     Fiat Yamaha Team rider Colin Edwards finished second in the British Grand Prix at Donington Park today, taking his second podium of the season after a fighting ride from pole position. His team-mate Valentino Rossi was disappointed to finish fourth but nonetheless managed to set another record in the process, overtaking Mick Doohan to take the title of most prolific points-scorer ever in the premier class, with a total of 2,303 points. After a brief respite yesterday the British weather closed in again and the race was declared wet, although the rain failed to deter the 84,785 fans who had turned out to see their adopted heroes in action.     Yoshimura Suzuki's Ben Spies and Mat Mladin continue to dominate the AMA Superbike Championship Series after finishing first and second respectively in the first AMA Superbike race of the double-header weekend at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Read more.....

    Colin Edwards took his second MotoGP career pole at Donington Park today with team-mate Valentino Rossi in second place, meaning that between them the Fiat Yamaha riders have now filled the top grid spot for six out of eight races this season. Edwards, who also took his first ever MotoGP podium here in 2004, put in a perfect lap of 1'28.531, 0.146 seconds ahead of Rossi, with Dani Pedrosa filling the final front-row slot. Read more.....

    After enjoying a brief respite in Catalunya from the bad weather that has plagued several races this season, the opening day of the British Grand Prix saw yet more rain for the MotoGP paddock as business got underway at Donington Park. The eighth round of the season kicked off this morning with an action-packed first practice that saw several riders, including Rossi, on the floor as they struggled to adapt to a wet track after enjoying more summery conditions last time out Spain. Rossi slid off his M1 into the gravel trap early on and suffered some bruising to his arm, although he was able to complete the session on his second bike. Read more.....

    The Fiat Yamaha Team trucks complete another gruelling journey across land and sea this week as the MotoGP World Championship trail heads from Spain to England for the first of three consecutive races in Northern Europe. The Donington Park circuit in Leicestershire hosts the eighth round of the campaign, with round nine set to take place just six days later at Assen in Holland before moving on to Germany's Sachsenring circuit for round ten a fortnight after that.     Former World and British Superbike Champion Neil Hodgson will test the Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire on Wednesday and Thursday (June 20-21) in a bid to boost the team's performance during the second half of the 2007 BSB season. Read more.....

    Following a tough second day of World Superbike qualifying at the Misano World Circuit today, HANNspree Ten Kate Honda's James Toseland will start tomorrow's 24-lap race from the front row of the grid. Team-mate Roberto Rolfo qualified in ninth position for a third row start. Read more.....

    The Republic of San Marino played host to the first day of qualifying at round eight of the 2007 World Supersport Championship today. It was a mixed day for HANNspree Ten Kate Honda as both riders familiarised themselves with the revamped 4.180km Misano World Circuit. Read more.....

    Troy Bayliss (Ducati Xerox) shrugged off sweltering temperatures at the Misano World Circuit to clinch provisional pole position in Friday qualifying. The 38 year-old Australian let all his rivals do all the work for much of the session before slipping in a quick time of 1m36.479s in the last few minutes to take the top slot. Team-mate Lorenzo Lanzi on the other hand was out of luck in the final stages as he slipped down from a provisional sixth to tenth place at the end of the session. Read more.....

    BBC TV Commentator, and former bike and truck racer, Steve Parrish, will become only the sixth person to ride the 800cc Ninja ZX-RR this season, when he takes Kawasaki's MotoGP machine out for a test ride around the Donington Park circuit ahead of the British Grand Prix. Read more.....

    Airwaves Ducati got round 6 of the Bennetts British Superbike championship underway at a grey and wet Mondello Park. Leon Haslam came 9th in first 50 minute session and 4th in second practice, whilst team mate Gregorio Lavilla came 10th and 5th. Read more.....

    The World Superbike Championship moves on from the torrential rains that forced the abandonment of Silverstone's race 2 to what promises to be another scorching weekend of action at the recently revamped, resurfaced and renamed Misano World Circuit track. Read more.....

    This weekend Misano hosts the eighth round of the 2007 World Superbike Championship and the Yamaha Motor Italia Team is fully focused and raring for more success following their second and third positions at Silverstone two weeks ago. Bad weather conditions meant the second race was cancelled, preventing the team from taking further points away.     Valentino Rossi rode his Yamaha M1 to a fighting second place in Catalunya today after an exhilarating battle with Casey Stoner, the Australian eventually taking the flag just 0.069 seconds ahead of the Fiat Yamaha rider after a nail-biting final few laps. Rossi 96th premier-class podium gives him yet another record as it takes him above Mick Doohan as the rider with the most podium finishes ever in the top class of Grand Prix racing. His team-mate Edwards suffered from grip issues throughout and was unable to stick with the leading pack from sixth on the grid, eventually finishing in tenth. Read more.....

    Fiat Yamaha Team rider Valentino Rossi rounded off the first day of the Grand Prix of Catalunya in positive fashion today, setting the second fastest time of the day on his penultimate lap as temperatures climbed into the thirties at Montmelo. Fresh from a spectacular victory at his home-race in Italy last Sunday, Rossi and his team arrived here on a high and wasted no time in getting down to business this morning as they seek their first back-to-back set of victories since their Mugello-Barcelona double last year.     Dunlop had plenty of reasons to celebrate this morning as supported rider John McGuinness clinched victory in the Senior TT race and smashed the average lap speed of 129.45mph he set in 2006. The Morecambe rider led the six-lap race from start to finish to earn his place as one of the most successful TT riders in the event's history. Read more.....

    Virgin Media Optoma Loans Yamaha is pleased to announce the signing of Hudson Kennaugh for the remainder of the 2007 Bennetts British Superbike season. The 26 year-old South African initially deputised for James Haydon at the last two rounds of the championship at Oulton Park and Snetterton.     The Fiat Yamaha Team will float across the Mediterranean on cloud nine this week as they follow the MotoGP World Championship trail to Barcelona on the back of a stunning victory for Valentino Rossi at Mugello.     Dunlop has once again proved its road racing capabilities with supported riders filling all top five positions in the opening event at the Centenary Isle of Man TT. 2006 TT hat-trick hero John McGuinness led the Bennetts Superbike race from start to finish, scoring his first TT victory of the year in front of thousands of spectators.     Valentino Rossi set yet another record in his extraordinary racing career today, becoming the first rider in the history of the sport to take six consecutive wins at his home circuit. The 85,480 adoring fans who had braved the threat of rain and turned the green hillsides of the Mugello valley bright yellow were rewarded in style as the Italian scored an emphatic and emotional victory, his fourth here for Yamaha and eighth in total from twelve years of racing.     Fiat Yamaha Team rider Valentino Rossi will launch his quest for a sixth consecutive home victory from the front row for tomorrow's Italian Grand Prix, having kept his cool during a rain-battered Qualifying session to take the third grid spot. Despite some improvements to his race-pace during this morning's dry practice session, his team-mate Colin Edwards continued his unhappy relationship with Mugello this afternoon and could only manage a lowly 16th.     After a wet race in France, Fiat Yamaha Team riders Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards had slightly better hopes for the weather in Italy this weekend but torrential rain throughout this afternoon put paid to that and the riders once again found themselves splashing around a soaking track doing their best to stay upright. Unfortunately this was a task Rossi could not quite manage today and the Italian slid off in the last seconds of the session when on his way to setting what looked like being the fastest lap of the afternoon, luckily emerging from the gravel trap unhurt.     Optoma Racing star Steve Plater made history last night (Thursday) when he clocked up the fastest ever lap of the TT course by a newcomer in the practice session on the Optoma Loans Yamaha R1 Superbike with a scorching lap time of 18 minutes, 38.99 seconds - 121.384mph. Read more.....
