New Dimensions and Lighter Weight For the Ultimate in Control
Totally new from the ground up, Honda's dynamic 2007 CBR600RR launches a
blistering assault on road and track with a breathtaking new, aerodynamically designed
race-ready form; a smaller, lighter and more powerful new 600cc Dual Sequential Fuel
Injected inline-4 engine; a slimmer and lighter weight new Fine Die-Cast aluminium
frame; and an impressive list of high-performance features which all come together to
herald the arrival of the electrifying new champion of the mid-displacement Super
Sports class.
Stamped with the genetic imprint of its proud RC211V racing lineage, the new
CBR600RR's 'True to Function' concept now sets the stage for another historic reign of
CBR world domination with a stronger power-to-weight ratio, brisker, more responsive
handling and smoother, easier control that lets every rider feel in no uncertain terms that
they too can be The Fastest on the Track. and the Fastest Everywhere.
New Features
Forged in the fires of MotoGP competition, the new 2007 CBR600RR is packed
with a long list of impressive design and development innovations that will assure its
domination of road and track for years to come.
New Styling Features
Lighter, more curvaceous and compact new bodywork design.
Distinctive new 'Airfoil' bodywork design utilises prominent side wings for more
efficient air management and easier control.
Emphasised focus on mass centralisation yields more compact front cowl and
slimmer and lighter seat cowl.
New ram air induction system features large intake port located in centre of front
cowl.
Slimmer and smoother seat and tank area for easier manoeuvrability.
10mm higher handlebars for enhanced control and comfort.
Distinctive Line Beam headlights complemented by compact new indicators with
smoked lenses covering amber bulbs.
New Performance Features
All-new inline-4 engine is smallest and lightest in the 600cc Super Sports class.
New magnesium head cover, nutless connecting rods, single exhaust valve springs,
neodium ACG magnet and smaller, lighter clutch all contribute to engine's lighter
weight.
New ram air system combines with improvements to intake and exhaust ports and
PGM-DSFI (Programmed Dual Sequential Fuel Injection) system programming
for maximised performance, stronger torque and sharper, smoother response.
New IACV( Idle Air Control Valve) minimises torque reaction during small
changes in throttle operation.
New molybdenum-impregnated piston skirts and thinner oil rings reduce friction
for quicker-revving performance.
New computerised knock sensor system maintains optimal spark advance while
automatically eliminating detonation.
Lighter-weight stainless steel exhaust system features new electronically
controlled in-line exhaust valve.
New low-lash transmission combines with engine's reduced torque reaction to
greatly smooth transitions between acceleration and deceleration.
New Handling Features
Newly designed Fine Die-Cast aluminium frame made with fewer moulded
sections for significantly lighter and slimmer design.
Smaller engine size contributes to enhanced mass centralisation, shorter
wheelbase, longer swingarm and forward extension of the steering head relative to
the engine's crankshaft for smoother, more responsive handling on street and
track.
Major reductions in mass at the machine's front and rear extremities results in
significant improvements in handling response and cornering control.
Fully adjustable 41mm inverted HMAS cartridge-type front fork fitted with
powerful radial-mount disc brakes.
Longer lightweight Unit-Pro-Link swingarm incorporates entire suspension
system into its design, isolating frame and steering from rear wheel stresses.
Lightweight wheels feature compact hubs for reduced unsprung weight.
New Equipment Features
Lighter, more compact 2nd-generation Honda Electronic Steering Damper
(HESD) positioned out of sight under steering head for enhanced high-speed
handling and light, effortless control at low speeds.
New, more compact fully electronic instrument panel.
Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) effectively protects against ride-away
theft.
Extensive range of optional equipment available to enhance all aspects of the new
CBR600RR's road and track performance.
